Update Number One

Well, the first thing to update was my profile. I no longer live in Knoxville, Tennessee. I moved here to Kansas in May. I left Knoxville at the end of April and got to Kansas on May 1st. The nice thing about getting here then was that I was able to attend my niece's wedding. Seeing that and meeting family members I hadn't seen in years was pretty cool.

The next day I was able to relax and visit before I headed down to the town where I live now. My place is where my brother used to live. It was originally married officers quarters during World War 2. This town was where B-29 crews were trained for the Pacific Theater. After the war some of the locals bought them and had them moved to other locations in the town where they became rental properties. Most have since been torn down, but not this one. It probably should have been, but it wasn't.
Here's what it looks like:

Hmm ... I'm going to have to practice uploading pictures ... that came out looking a whole lot smaller than I wanted ... you get the idea. My place is adequate enoug to keep the weather off me and all that so I'm not going to complain. Considering the fact I could be sleeping in my car I think I'm OK. My apartment is one at the far end toward the left of the picture.

The summer went pretty good. I enjoyed being back in Kansas and experiencing the summer heat. Living in Knoxville all those years had spoiled me; I was unprepared for this:

This was taken at around 5:30PM on the 22nd of July. I almost died when I saw this! When I saw it I had to pull over and take a picture of it. Needless to say, it has become consideraably colder since then. In fact, the weather channel website says it is currently 52 and they are forecasting a low tonight of 30 with rain turning to snow! Tommorow they are calling for more snow, accumulations of 1 to 2 inches. We'll see how that goes.
So, ... I'm going to bail for now. I have a few clean-up things I need to get done around the house before it gets too much later. I'll write more later.

Take Care, Be Good and Don't Play in the Street!
